Go west – Idaho & Oregon

Monday 13 to Thursday 16 July

It was a long hard drive to the western city of Portland, we covered more than 1300 km in two days.  We made a coffee stop at Idaho Falls and an overnighter at Boise.

In Idahoo we followed the ever fattening Snake River and in Oregon we travelled along side the Columbia River – filling up and becoming wider and faster from it’s tributaries.

We explored downtown Portland – the farmer’s market, Powell’s massive bookstore and the Deschute’s Brewery. We overlooked the city from the Aerial Tram and wandered along the riverbank.

A brewery nearby was good enough for dinner both nights.

Next stop has to be wine-country.
